Most laminate is sold by photo and product code, which makes shopping by colour harder than it should be. Of the 60 laminates in our catalogue, only 18 carry a real colour name, such as Morning Linen, Grey Oak or Brook Walnut; the other 42 are listed by model code. Those 18 named planks span white, beige, honey, mid brown and dark walnut tones, priced from $2.39 to $4.54 per sq ft. Below, each one is sorted by how it looks in its product photo, with box price, thickness and AC rating, so you can shortlist colours before browsing the full laminate flooring collection.
Quick answer: the named laminate colours you can choose from
- White and pale grey (4): Lilywhite Oak, Nordic Frost, Native Urban Pine and Wilderness Oak, $2.99 to $4.54 per sq ft.
- Light beige and blonde (5): Morning Linen, Sandy Driftwood, Warm Parchment, Desert Sand and Beige, $2.49 to $4.54 per sq ft.
- Honey and natural (2): Champagne Oak and Ivory Birch, both $4.54 per sq ft.
- Mid brown and grey-brown (5): Smoked Hazel, Amber Walnut, Witches Wood, Chestnut and Grey Oak, $2.49 to $4.54 per sq ft.
- Dark brown (2): Dark Tobacco and Brook Walnut, $2.39 to $4.54 per sq ft.
All 18 were in stock on the day prices were checked. The groups follow the colour each plank shows in its photo, not just its name: Ivory Birch, for example, photographs as warm honey rather than ivory. Screens shift colour, so confirm your shortlist against a real plank in daylight. The Riche photos are styled room scenes; the others show the planks themselves.
All 18 colour-named laminates, sorted by tone
Line, thickness and AC rating come from each product title or product page. Colours that share a line and price share a row. The last column is the box price divided by the sq ft in the box, rounded to the cent.

Three lines behind the names: Riche, Swiss Krono and Krono Original
The names come from three product lines, each with its own build and box size, so similar shades can sit far apart on price.
- Riche Toronto Collection (10 colours): 12mm planks, each listed as "AC 3 Residential Grade" on its product page and priced at $69.99 per 15.4 sq ft box, or $4.54 per sq ft. The pages describe the surface as "Random EIR (Embossed in Register)", meaning the texture is pressed to follow the printed grain.
- Swiss Krono (7 colours): three 10mm AC5 colours (Beige, Chestnut and Grey Oak) in 17.22 sq ft boxes, plus four 14mm AC6 colours (Lilywhite Oak, Wilderness Oak, Native Urban Pine and Witches Wood) in 13.28 sq ft boxes, from $2.49 to $3.39 per sq ft.
- Krono Original (1 colour): Brook Walnut, a 12mm AC3 plank that is 5" wide, sold in 13.61 sq ft boxes at $2.39 per sq ft.
So a soft light-beige look costs $4.54 per sq ft in Sandy Driftwood or Morning Linen and $2.49 in Swiss Krono Beige, a gap of $2.05 per sq ft that comes from the line, not the shade. For what the AC ratings mean room by room, see our laminate guide to brands, AC ratings and thickness; this page stays on colour.
White and pale grey laminate: four planks to compare
Shopping for white laminate flooring Toronto-wide? In our range the choice narrows to four planks, and they are less alike than the word "white" suggests.
- Lilywhite Oak (Swiss Krono, 14mm, AC6): the whitest of the group, with faint grey grain lines and very little knotting in its photo. At $45.00 per 13.28 sq ft box it works out to $3.39 per sq ft.
- Nordic Frost (Riche, 12mm): a pale grey-white with gentle grain. It reads cooler than Lilywhite Oak and suits grey or white kitchens.
- Native Urban Pine (Swiss Krono, 14mm, AC6): light grey, weathered-looking boards, several printed with stencil-style numbers and dots in the photo. It is an industrial, loft-style choice rather than a plain white floor.
- Wilderness Oak (Swiss Krono, 14mm, AC6): a pale greige oak with visible knots and arched grain, on the border between white and beige, and the easiest of the four to pair with warm wood furniture.

Light beige, blonde and honey laminate colours
This is the largest family, seven planks across the beige and honey groups, keeping a room bright without the stark contrast of white.
Beige and blonde shades
Morning Linen is the palest beige, a creamy blonde close to the white group. Sandy Driftwood and Warm Parchment are a step warmer, light beige with soft, even grain, and Desert Sand is the deepest of the four Riche beiges. All four share the Riche build and price, so you can choose purely on shade.
Swiss Krono Beige is the outlier: its photo shows a natural light oak with knots and more character than the Riche beiges, on a 10mm AC5 plank at $42.83 per 17.22 sq ft box.
Honey tones: Champagne Oak and Ivory Birch
Both are Riche planks at $4.54 per sq ft and both photograph as warm, golden natural wood; Champagne Oak is a touch lighter and more yellow, Ivory Birch a little more orange. None of our laminates is named honey oak, but these two are the nearest match.
Walnut, oak and mid-brown laminate looks
Two walnut-named planks, very different shades
Amber Walnut (Riche, $4.54 per sq ft) shows as a mid, warm brown with smooth, even grain. Brook Walnut is much darker: deep brown boards with a scraped texture, which its product page calls "a rich, multi-tonal brown palette". At $32.53 per 13.61 sq ft box it sits at the bottom of the named price range, and its 5" width gives a more traditional strip-floor look.
Dark Tobacco, the other dark plank, is a Riche colour in deep chocolate brown with a smoother face. Choose it for a sleek, even dark floor and Brook Walnut for a weathered, hand-worn character.
Oak looks, from white to grey-brown
Four named planks call themselves oak: Lilywhite Oak and Wilderness Oak in the pale group, Champagne Oak in the honey group and Grey Oak in the mid tones. Grey Oak (Swiss Krono, 10mm, AC5) is the one to see for grey oak laminate. Its close-up shows grey-brown boards with dark knots and saw-mark texture, rustic rather than cool grey, at $42.83 per 17.22 sq ft box.
For greige, Wilderness Oak and Grey Oak are the nearest named laminates; our guide to greige flooring covers pairing that tone with walls and cabinets.
Other mid browns: Smoked Hazel, Witches Wood and Chestnut
Smoked Hazel (Riche) is a soft taupe brown, the most neutral mid tone. Witches Wood (Swiss Krono, 14mm, AC6, $2.99 per sq ft) is a mid-brown oak with strong arched grain, and Chestnut (Swiss Krono, 10mm, AC5, $2.89 per sq ft) is a warm amber-brown with knots.
How many boxes a 180 sq ft room needs in each look
Colour decides the look, but box size decides how much flooring you buy. Take a 12 x 15 ft room, 180 sq ft. Adding our 5% waste allowance for cuts brings the order to 189 sq ft; boxes = 189 divided by the sq ft per box, rounded up to a whole box. Laminate also goes over underlay, and our standard roll covers 200 sq ft for $50.00, so one roll does this room.
| Colour | Sq ft per box | Boxes for 189 sq ft | Sq ft you receive | Flooring cost | With one underlay roll |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Morning Linen | 15.4 sq ft | 13 | 200.2 sq ft | $909.87 | $959.87 |
| Lilywhite Oak | 13.28 sq ft | 15 | 199.2 sq ft | $675.00 | $725.00 |
| Grey Oak | 17.22 sq ft | 11 | 189.42 sq ft | $471.13 | $521.13 |
| Brook Walnut | 13.61 sq ft | 14 | 190.54 sq ft | $455.42 | $505.42 |
Figures exclude HST, delivery and installation, which are confirmed at quote. Every Riche colour matches the Morning Linen row because all ten share one box. A bigger box does not necessarily mean less waste: Grey Oak lands within half a sq ft of the target, while Morning Linen leaves more than 11 sq ft spare.
Matching a laminate tone to your room
- Small or dim rooms: a pale plank such as Lilywhite Oak, Nordic Frost or Morning Linen reflects more daylight.
- Busy households with pets: mid tones such as Smoked Hazel, Witches Wood or Grey Oak tend to show less dust and light scuffing than very pale or very dark floors.
- Hallways and entrances: the AC rating matters more here than colour. Every Swiss Krono named colour is AC5 or AC6; our roundup of AC5 laminate brands compares them.
- Matching existing wood: hold a plank beside your stairs or cabinets in daylight. Champagne Oak sits well beside older golden oak, while Nordic Frost suits white or grey trim.
For how the lines differ beyond their surface, see our guide to laminate brands and grades.
What about the 42 laminates sold by code?
Most of our range, including Egger, Goodfellow, Kronotex, Kronoswiss and Sunshiny, is listed by product code. We do not assign colour names to those codes; judge them by their photos. Two do add an oak name after the code: Krono K6991 Brick Oak (12mm, AC4, $38.07 per 15.93 sq ft box) and Kronotex D3570 Harbour Oak (10mm, AC5, 6.18" wide), both at $2.39 per sq ft.
Questions about laminate colours
Do you carry harbour oak laminate flooring?
Yes. Kronotex D3570 Harbour Oak is a 10mm AC5 plank at $33.44 for a 13.99 sq ft box. Its photos show a medium-to-dark brown oak with amber streaks, warmer than Grey Oak.
Which laminate is closest to dark walnut?
Brook Walnut, the darker of our two walnut names, at $2.39 per sq ft. For a smoother dark surface without the scraped texture, Dark Tobacco is $4.54 per sq ft.
Is there a honey oak laminate?
Not by that name. Champagne Oak and Ivory Birch are the closest golden tones, and Chestnut is a deeper amber option with more brown.
How much does a white or pale laminate cost per sq ft?
The four pale colours run from $2.99 to $4.54 per sq ft: Native Urban Pine at $2.99, Wilderness Oak at $3.09, Lilywhite Oak at $3.39 and Nordic Frost at $4.54.
