Flooring Delivery in the GTA: Cost, Timing, Condo Elevators and Curbside vs In-Room

Flooring delivery in Toronto and the GTA is a flat $150.00 or $200.00 by postal zone, and the truck stops at the curb rather than inside your home. See what each zone costs, how many boxes a room needs, and what to book before delivery day.

Working out what flooring delivery costs in Toronto is simpler than most buyers expect: a flat posted fee set by postal code rather than a price per box or per kilometre. Deliveries to a postal code starting with M cost $150.00, and a postal code starting with L costs $200.00. The part that catches people out is not the fee, it is the drop-off. The truck stops at the curb, driveway, garage or loading area, not inside your unit. Below are both posted rates, the box counts behind a typical order, and what to have ready for delivery day. If you want the floor and the installation handled together, our flooring installation service puts delivery on the same quote as the install.

Quick answer: what flooring delivery costs in Toronto and the GTA

  • Postal codes starting with M: a flat $150.00.
  • Postal codes starting with L: a flat $200.00.
  • The posted rate is flat. It is a zone rate, not a weight, distance or per-box calculation. The final delivery cost on your quote can still vary with order size, truck access and delivery conditions.
  • Drop-off only. Delivery is curbside, driveway, garage or another accessible loading point. Carry-in, stairs, elevator transport, hallway delivery and room placement are not included.
  • Quoted with installation. When our installation labour is on the quote, the delivery line for your zone goes on that same quote.

How the two postal zones work

Delivery is priced by the first letter of the postal code, so two orders of the same size can sit in different zones. The table is short because the rate sheet is short:

Zone Postal prefix Flat delivery rate Drop-off point
Toronto M $150.00 Curbside, driveway or garage
GTA, L prefixes L $200.00 Curbside, driveway or garage

The gap between the two zones is $50.00 on the same order. Extra boxes for cuts and repairs do not turn the zone rate into a per-box charge, though order size and unloading access are part of the final quote. A postal code that begins with neither M nor L is not on this table, so send the full address with the order and we will confirm the rate before anything is scheduled rather than guessing at it.

How big the delivery is: boxes, coverage and counts

Coverage per box swings widely between products, and the three floors below range from 11.82 to 23.64 sq ft per box. That changes how many cartons land at the curb for the same room. Our quote formula adds 5% waste to the measured area and then rounds up to whole boxes, so a 500 sq ft room becomes 525 sq ft. This is what that looks like on each product:

Product Box price Coverage per box Material per sq. ft. Boxes for 500 sq ft
Riche Blonde Sand Oak SPC LVP, 6mm with IXPE pad $62.93 23.64 sq ft $2.66 23 boxes
Riche Greige Oak SPC vinyl plank, 10mm with EVA pad $59.00 11.82 sq ft $4.99 45 boxes
European Oak Engineered Hardwood, Slate, 6 1/2" wide $95.71 20.24 sq ft $4.73 26 boxes

Prices checked October 6, 2026. Box prices, coverage and inventory come from our current catalogue.

Riche Blonde Sand Oak SPC, 6mm: 23 boxes at $2.66 per sq ft

At $62.93 per box and 23.64 sq ft of coverage, this waterproof SPC plank works out to $2.66 per sq ft, and its box size keeps the order at 23 boxes for a 500 sq ft room. The plank is 7.09" wide, 6mm thick, with a 12mil wear layer aimed at residential traffic. It is a click-lock floor built with an attached IXPE pad, so there is no separate underlay to add to the order or to carry in.

Riche Greige Oak SPC, 10mm: 45 boxes at $4.99 per sq ft

This one is the narrower of the two vinyls at 5.9" and the thicker at 10mm (3/8"), with a 20mil wear layer listed for commercial or heavy-duty use, and it also carries an attached pad. The box price is $59.00, but each box covers only 11.82 sq ft, so the material rate is $4.99 per sq ft and the same 500 sq ft room needs 45 boxes. Buying on box price alone would hide both that difference and the size of the stack waiting at the curb.

European Oak engineered hardwood, Slate: 26 boxes of wood

Wood changes the plan more than it changes the fee. This European oak engineered plank is 19mm (3/4") thick, 6 1/2" wide, with a 2mm oak top layer, character grade and a wire-brushed finish. At $95.71 per 20.24 sq ft box it is $4.73 per sq ft, and 500 sq ft takes 26 boxes. It installs nail-down, so no underlay rolls are needed. Installation labour on a wood floor is a separate question from delivery, and our engineered hardwood installed cost guide works through those numbers.

Curbside, driveway or garage: what the truck covers

Every rate on this page buys a drop-off. The job ends at the accessible loading point: curbside, driveway, garage or loading area, whichever your property offers safely. Carrying boxes inside the home, up or down stairs, along hallways, into a condo unit or basement, and setting them out room by room are all outside the delivery charge. Two things are the customer's to arrange: safe truck access with a legal place to stop, and someone on site who can receive the order.

  • A house: curbside or driveway, wherever the truck can stop safely and legally.
  • For a condo or managed building, the loading area or garage is the drop-off point, with the building's own booking rules handled ahead of time.

Condo delivery: loading areas, elevators and building bookings

Managed buildings are where a delivery plan most often needs adjusting. For condos, apartments and other managed buildings, our terms set delivery at the curbside, driveway, garage, loading area or another accessible drop-off point unless something different is agreed in writing first. Anything past that point, including elevator transport and hallway or unit delivery, sits outside the rate. Our rate sheet posts the two zone fees without a separate condo figure, so the delivery charge for a condo address is confirmed at quote once the building's access is known.

Your building decides what is possible on the day. Elevator booking, loading dock access, parking permits, work-hour restrictions and sometimes acoustic underlay requirements are all set by management, so confirm them with your property manager before the delivery is booked. Special requirements and building rules can change how the truck is unloaded and what the delivery involves. If you are still choosing a floor for a unit, our condo flooring guide covers the material side.

Worked example: delivered material for a 500 sq ft room

Here is the delivery arithmetic for a 500 sq ft room in an M postal code, using the same steps that appear on our quotes:

  1. Add 5% waste. 500 sq ft x 1.05 = 525 sq ft.
  2. Convert to boxes. Boxes = 525 sq ft divided by the coverage per box, rounded up to whole boxes.
  3. Material. Boxes x box price.
  4. Delivery. The posted $150.00 for an M postal code.
  5. HST. 13% Ontario HST on the subtotal.
Product Material Delivery Subtotal HST 13% Total
Riche Blonde Sand Oak SPC LVP $1,447.39 $150.00 $1,597.39 $207.66 $1,805.05
Riche Greige Oak SPC vinyl plank $2,655.00 $150.00 $2,805.00 $364.65 $3,169.65
European Oak Engineered Hardwood, Slate $2,488.46 $150.00 $2,638.46 $343.00 $2,981.46

The delivery line is identical in all three rows, yet it takes a different share of each total: 8.31% of the $1,805.05 total on the Riche Blonde Sand Oak order, 5.03% of the $2,981.46 total on the wood order and 4.73% of the $3,169.65 total on the Riche Greige Oak order. On the posted rate, a bigger order spreads one fee over more material, which is the practical reason to put flooring, underlay and trim on one delivery instead of two.

What decides the delivery date

Timing depends on a few pieces of information rather than a fixed schedule we can print here. Once these are settled, a delivery date can be set:

  • Your postal prefix. M and L are the only two zones on our rate table, so an address outside them needs the rate confirmed first.
  • Someone to receive the order. The driver needs a person on site at the agreed drop-off point.
  • Condo logistics. Elevator, loading dock, parking and work-hour rules have to be booked with your property manager before the truck arrives.
  • Truck access. A safe, legal stopping point close to the drop-off point keeps the delivery simple.

If moving boxes yourself is realistic, pickup is worth comparing with delivery, and our same-day pickup guide covers how that works. Mixing an in-stock floor with a special order can also change when the delivery happens, which our in-stock vs special order guide explains. Frequently asked questions about flooring delivery

How much does flooring delivery cost in Toronto and the GTA?

A postal code beginning with M carries a posted flat rate of $150.00, and one beginning with L carries $200.00. Those are zone rates rather than per-box prices; the figure on your quote confirms them against order size, truck access and delivery conditions, and delivery is already on the quote when our installation labour is included. Addresses outside those two prefixes are quoted individually.

Will the driver bring the boxes inside my house?

No. The rate covers a drop-off at the curbside, driveway, garage or another accessible loading point. Carry-in, stairs, elevator transport, hallway delivery, basement and room-by-room placement are all separate from it, so the boxes have to be moved from the drop-off point by you or your installer.

What has to be arranged for a condo delivery?

Confirm the building's elevator booking, loading dock access, parking permits and permitted work hours with your property manager first. Delivery itself goes to an accessible drop-off point such as the loading area or garage unless another arrangement is agreed in writing, and some buildings add acoustic underlay requirements that affect the material rather than the delivery.

Do I need to be home when the delivery arrives?

Someone has to be there to receive the order at the drop-off point, and the truck needs safe access to it. A missed appointment, an inaccessible drop-off point or nobody available to take the delivery can lead to extra charges, so confirm the details before the truck is booked.

Can I collect the flooring instead of paying for delivery?

Yes, pickup from the showroom avoids the zone fee, and it suits orders you can move in your own vehicle.
