Our European oak engineered hardwood comes in 29 in-stock colour names, and they sort neatly into five tone groups: light, grey and greige, natural and honey, warm brown and amber, and dark. Every board in the line is wire-brushed, character-grade oak that is 3/4" thick, so picking one is really about tone, plank width and top layer. For the most part, the colour itself does not change what you pay. Boards 6.5" wide are $4.73 per sq ft, boards 7.5" wide are $4.99, and a single 4mm Driftwood sits above the rest at $6.18. Below, every in-stock colour from our engineered hardwood collection is placed in its tone group with its width, top layer and price, so you can build a shortlist of two or three before looking at boards in person.

Every in-stock colour, sorted by tone

The groups follow how each colour looks in its product image, not just what it is called. That matters, because a few names point the wrong way. Grey Manor, for example, looks closer to a light tan-greige than a true grey, and Havana is a pale honey rather than the deep brown its name suggests. Read across a row to see which widths and top layers a tone comes in.

Prices checked October 6, 2026. Box prices and coverage come from our current catalogue.

Put together, that is 35 boards in stock out of 38 engineered listings. Five colours are offered with both a 3mm and a 4mm top layer (Cloud, Silver Grey, Bourbon, Driftwood and Mocha), and Verita comes in both widths, although the two Verita boards land in different tone groups: the narrower one is noticeably paler. Pewter and Cappuccino are currently stocked in their 4mm versions only.

Width and top layer mostly set the price, not the colour

Because every board is the same species, grade and finish, only three price points exist across the whole family. We sell by the box, so the per-square-foot figure is the box price divided by the coverage printed for that box.

Width Top layer Box price Coverage per box Price per sq ft Boards in stock
6.5" 2mm $95.71 20.24 sq ft $4.73 9
7.5" 3mm $97.00 19.42 sq ft $4.99 19
7.5" 4mm $97.00 19.42 sq ft $4.99 6
7.5" (Driftwood only) 4mm $120.00 19.42 sq ft $6.18 1

Two things stand out. Moving from a 6.5" board to a 7.5" board costs $0.26 more per sq ft, and it brings a thicker top layer with it. Between the 3mm and 4mm versions of the wider board there is no price step at all, apart from Driftwood, which is $1.19 per sq ft above the other 4mm colours. So if you love a colour that exists in both top layers, the 4mm version costs you nothing extra at today's prices, Driftwood excepted. What the top layer means for the life of the floor is covered in our European oak engineered hardwood buying guide; this page stays on colour.

What one 300 sq ft room costs in each tier

To see how the tiers play out on a real room, take a 300 sq ft living and dining area. Our quotes add 5% for cuts and waste, which brings it to 315 sq ft, and you buy whole boxes.

Tier Boxes for 315 sq ft Material before tax
6.5" wide, 2mm ($95.71 per box) 315 ÷ 20.24 = 15.56, rounded up to 16 $1,531.36
7.5" wide, 3mm or 4mm ($97.00 per box) 315 ÷ 19.42 = 16.22, rounded up to 17 $1,649.00
Driftwood 7.5" wide, 4mm ($120.00 per box) 17 boxes $2,040.00

On this room the wider plank adds $117.64 in material over the 6.5" tier, whichever colour you choose inside each tier. Installation, delivery and 13% HST are not included in these figures; they are confirmed at quote once we know the rooms, the subfloor and your postal code.

Light and white-washed tones: Cloud, Off White, White Sand and Verita

Five boards make up the pale end of the range. Cloud is a soft grey-white with very little yellow in it, and it is one of the colours you can get with either a 3mm or a 4mm top layer. Off White is a touch creamier, a pale beige that keeps the oak grain visible without going yellow. If you want the white-washed look on a tighter budget, White Sand and the 6.5" Verita are both pale beige boards at $4.73 per sq ft.

Choosing a white-washed engineered wood floor often means weighing a pale finish against plain oak. Our white-washed vs natural oak comparison works through that decision; the short version here is that Cloud and Off White give you the white-washed effect, while the natural group further down keeps the oak's own colour.

Grey engineered hardwood flooring, from silver to slate

Grey is the largest group, with ten boards, and it covers a wide spread. At the light end, Titanium Grey is a pale grey with a faint beige warmth. Silver Grey and Pewter read cooler and a shade deeper. Highland Silver and English Gray sit in the middle with a soft beige undertone, Slate is a deeper, stony grey, and Silver Beige and Ruccia lean towards greige. Grey Manor, despite the name, is noticeably warmer than the others and could pass for a light tan in some lighting.

Titanium Grey: a 3mm top layer on a 7.5" plank, $4.99/sq ft

For grey on a budget, four of these are 6.5" boards at $4.73 per sq ft: English Gray, Slate, Highland Silver and Silver Beige. English Gray, for instance, comes in a $95.71 box covering 20.24 sq ft. If you want the wider plank, Titanium Grey, Silver Grey, Grey Manor and Ruccia are 7.5" with a 3mm top layer at $4.99, and Silver Grey and Pewter also come in 4mm at the same price. If you are torn between a grey-beige board and a plain oak tone, our natural vs greige European oak guide compares that pair in detail.

Natural and honey oak: Natural, Sandbanks, Havana, Villa and Verita

This group shows the oak's own warmth rather than a grey or white wash, and all five boards are 7.5" wide with a 3mm top layer at $4.99 per sq ft. Natural is a strongly golden honey with bold grain. Sandbanks is lighter and still golden. Havana is not the dark floor its name might suggest; its product image shows a pale honey oak. Villa is a light natural tone where the grain pattern does a lot of the work, and the 7.5" Verita is a light tan that bridges natural and greige.

Natural oak tone, 7.5" plank and 3mm top layer, $4.99/sq ft

None of the natural tones is stocked in the 6.5" width or with a 4mm top layer right now, so this is the one group where the price is the same whichever board you pick. That makes the choice purely visual: Natural and Sandbanks if you like golden warmth, Havana or Villa for something calmer.

Warm browns and amber: Hazelnut, Bourbon, Cappuccino and more

Ten boards fall here, from amber to cocoa brown. Hazelnut is a rich golden amber, Bourbon goes deeper towards whisky brown, and Cappuccino has a reddish-amber cast. Chai Tea is a warm amber-brown in the 6.5" width, while Berkley and Cocoa, also 6.5", are mid browns with less orange in them. Latte is a smoky mid brown with dark grain lines, and Driftwood is a weathered mid brown that comes in two versions: 3mm at $4.99 per sq ft or 4mm at $6.18.

Warm browns spread across all three tiers. Three colours come in the $4.73 tier, four in the 3mm $4.99 tier, and three in 4mm. If you are replacing part of a house and want the new floor to sit next to an older brown floor, bring a piece of the old one when you compare, because amber and reddish browns may clash even when they look similar on screen.

Dark European oak: Mocha, Jasper, Cobalt and Black Pepper

The dark group has five boards across four names, all 7.5" wide. Mocha is a deep chocolate brown and is the only dark colour that also comes with a 4mm top layer, at the same $4.99 per sq ft. Jasper is a smoky dark brown with a hint of grey. Cobalt shows no blue in its product image; it is a deep brown with strong grain. Black Pepper sits at the lighter end of this group and could be read as a darker mid brown.

Every dark board shares the same wire-brushed texture as the rest of the family. If you are wondering how texture affects the look of a dark floor after a few years of use, our wire-brushed vs smooth finish comparison covers that question.

Narrowing it down for your rooms

With 29 names to choose from, a short process helps:

  • Set the tier first. If $4.73 per sq ft suits the budget, you are choosing from nine 6.5" boards in the light, grey and warm brown groups. Natural and dark tones start at the 7.5" width.
  • Decide on the top layer. Want 4mm? Seven boards offer it, and six of them cost the same as the 3mm boards. Pewter and Cappuccino are 4mm-only at the moment.
  • Pick a tone group, then two or three colours inside it. Hold them against your cabinets, trim and wall paint, in daylight and again under your evening lighting.
  • Check the names against the image. Grey Manor, Havana, Cobalt and Black Pepper all look different from what their names suggest.
  • Think about the next room. If the engineered floor will meet an existing solid floor, compare it with that floor directly. Our guide to solid red oak and maple stain colours may help if the neighbouring room is solid hardwood.

Questions about European oak colours

Do you carry European white oak engineered hardwood flooring?

Our engineered listings name the species as European oak and do not split it into white or red oak. For a white oak look, the colours to compare are Off White, Cloud and White Sand, with the pale 6.5" Verita as a lower-cost option.

Which grey engineered board costs the least?

The 6.5" greys: English Gray, Slate, Highland Silver and Silver Beige are each $4.73 per sq ft with a 2mm top layer. Every 7.5" grey, including Titanium Grey and Pewter, is $4.99.

Are the darker colours more expensive?

No. Mocha, Jasper, Cobalt and Black Pepper cost the same $97.00 per box as Off White or Natural. Price follows width and top layer, and the one exception in the whole family is the 4mm Driftwood at $120.00 per box.

How can I be sure of the colour before I order?

Product pages such as Titanium Grey and Mocha recommend a visit to our Toronto showroom for the most accurate colour. Bring a cabinet door or paint chip if you can, and look at two or three boards side by side rather than one at a time.

Do all colours install the same way?

Yes. Every colour in this European oak line lists nail-down as its installation method, so changing the tone alone does not change how the floor goes down.
