Maple is one of the harder North American hardwoods, with a fine, closed grain and an even texture. Solid construction means the floor can be refinished over the years, and natural variation gives each installation its own character.
Solid hardwood flooring is installed over a suitable subfloor using the method recommended by the manufacturer. Follow the manufacturer's installation and care instructions for subfloor preparation, acclimation and maintenance. Solid hardwood is not recommended for below-grade basements; for basements, see our waterproof SPC vinyl flooring.
