Riche's 9mm click-lock planks sit in three separate lines in our catalogue, and the line your colour belongs to can move the material bill by hundreds of dollars on a whole floor. This Riche 9mm SPC vinyl plank review compares them using only what we can state from our own listings: box price, coverage per box, wear layer and the spec fields on each product page. Pacific Teak is $5.08 per sq ft, the narrow-plank line is $4.50 and the wide-plank line is $4.37. All 26 colours live in our 9mm waterproof SPC vinyl plank collection. If you are still deciding on thickness, our 6mm vs 8mm vs 10mm SPC comparison covers that question, so this page assumes you have settled on 9mm and want to choose a line.
Quick answer: how the three 9mm lines differ
Two things separate the lines in our data: price and wear layer. The Pacific Teak line and the narrow-plank line share a 12mil wear layer and a 13.79 sq ft box, while the wide-plank line moves up to 20mil and a slightly larger 14.18 sq ft box.
| Line | Wear layer | Box price / coverage | Per sq ft | Colours in stock | Example colours |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pacific Teak line | 12mil | $69.99 / 13.79 sq ft | $5.08 | 5 of 6 | Pacific Teak, Seawall Brown, West Coast Sand |
| Narrow-plank line | 12mil | $62.00 / 13.79 sq ft (Frosted Birch: $69.99) | $4.50 (Frosted Birch: $5.08) | 9 of 10 | Sandstone Oak, Harbour Grey, Warm Acacia |
| Wide-plank line | 20mil | $62.00 / 14.18 sq ft | $4.37 | 8 of 10 | Misty Grey Oak, Golden Harvest Oak |
Prices checked October 4, 2026. Box prices and coverage come from our current catalogue, and each figure in the "per sq ft" column is the box price divided by the coverage per box.
- Pacific Teak costs $0.58 more per sq ft than the narrow-plank line at $62.00 a box, even though both list the same wear layer and box size.
- The wide-plank line is $0.13 below the narrow-plank line and $0.71 below Pacific Teak, and it is the only line with a 20mil wear layer.
- 22 of the 26 colours are in stock today, so confirm your colour before you plan around it.
What all 26 colours have in common
Every product in the collection lists a 9mm plank thickness, click-lock installation and "Yes" in our waterproof field. The 9mm figure is the total, pad included. Our Pacific Teak page describes it as "9mm (7mm Core + 2mm EVA Pad)", which is where the "7+2mm" in the headline comes from, and the Sandstone Oak and Golden Harvest Oak pages give the same split. A buyer comparing against other thicknesses should therefore think of these planks as a 7mm core with a 2mm pad attached to the back.
Wear layers are where the lines part ways. Our durability field reads "12mil - Residential" on the Pacific Teak and narrow-plank colours and "20mil - Commercial / Heavy Duty" on the wide-plank colours. That wording is how we label the products; it is not a service-life promise. For a wider look at how Riche stacks up against other SPC brands, see our SPC vinyl plank brands guide.
Pacific Teak line: $5.08 per sq ft and the sound ratings we can quote
The Pacific Teak line has six colours, and five of them are in stock today: Burrard Walnut, Coastal Greige, Pacific Teak, Seawall Brown and West Coast Sand. Each box is $69.99 for 13.79 sq ft, which works out to $5.08 per sq ft. The product page names this the "Riche Flooring 7+2mm Series" and lists a 12mil wear layer.
This is also the only line where we quote acoustic figures in this review. The Pacific Teak page lists "IIC 73 / STC 72" under its technical specifications. We do not extend that number to the other two lines, so if sound transmission matters for your unit, ask us to confirm the rating for the exact colour you want. Our guide to what IIC and STC mean for condos and multi-level homes explains how to read those numbers. Building rules vary, so check your own building's requirements before you order.
One colour in the narrow-plank family is priced like this line: Frosted Birch is $69.99 per 13.79 sq ft box, the same $5.08 per sq ft. If you like Frosted Birch, compare it with the Pacific Teak colours rather than with its $4.50 neighbours.
The $4.50 narrow-plank line: nine colours at $62.00
Nine colours in this line are $62.00 for 13.79 sq ft, or $4.50 per sq ft. Eight of them are in stock today: Coastal Grey, Cocoa Brown Oak, Harbour Grey, Honey Wheat Oak, Ivory Linen, Reclaimed Barnwood, Sandstone Oak and Warm Acacia. The wear layer is 12mil, the same as Pacific Teak, and the box size matches too.
The product titles in this line say an EVA pad is included and list the plank as 5.9" wide, and the Sandstone Oak page gives the same "9mm (7mm SPC core + 2mm EVA pad)" build as the Pacific Teak page. Because the pad is attached, we do not add a separate underlay roll to a budget for this line.
The $4.37 wide-plank line: 20mil wear layer and a bigger box
The wide-plank line has ten colours, all $62.00 per 14.18 sq ft box, or $4.37 per sq ft. Eight are in stock, including Misty Grey Oak, Golden Harvest Oak, Cloud White Oak, Natural Honey Oak and Warm Chestnut.
Two differences stand out from the data. The wear layer is 20mil rather than 12mil, and each box covers 0.39 sq ft more than a box in the other two lines. Our product titles also list these planks as 7.09" wide, wider than the 5.9" planks above, and state an EVA pad, so the same no-separate-underlay logic applies. If you are covering a busy hallway, a rental or an open-plan main floor, the 20mil field is the spec to weigh against the narrow-plank line.
Box maths: material for 300 and 800 sq ft
Per-square-foot prices hide one thing: you buy whole boxes. Here is the calculation we use for material, which you can repeat on a phone calculator:
- Multiply your floor area by 1.05 to add the 5% waste allowance.
- Divide by the sq ft in one box and round up to whole boxes.
- Multiply the boxes by the box price.
- Add 13% HST to get the amount you pay at checkout.
For 300 sq ft the waste-adjusted area is 315 sq ft, and for 800 sq ft it is 840 sq ft. Applying the steps to a Pacific Teak box, a Sandstone Oak box and a Golden Harvest Oak box gives this:
| Line (reference colour) | Box price / coverage | Boxes for 300 sq ft | Material for 300 sq ft | Boxes for 800 sq ft | Material for 800 sq ft |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pacific Teak line (Pacific Teak) | $69.99 / 13.79 sq ft | 23 boxes | $1,609.77 | 61 boxes | $4,269.39 |
| Narrow-plank line (Sandstone Oak) | $62.00 / 13.79 sq ft | 23 boxes | $1,426.00 | 61 boxes | $3,782.00 |
| Wide-plank line (Golden Harvest Oak) | $62.00 / 14.18 sq ft | 23 boxes | $1,426.00 | 60 boxes | $3,720.00 |
Material amounts are before HST. Adding 13% HST to the 800 sq ft figures gives $4,824.41 for Pacific Teak, $4,273.66 for Sandstone Oak and $4,203.60 for Golden Harvest Oak.
What the table shows is that the narrow-plank and wide-plank lines cost the same at 300 sq ft, because both need 23 boxes at $62.00. At 800 sq ft the wide-plank line needs one box fewer, which makes it $62.00 below the narrow-plank line. Pacific Teak runs $549.39 above the wide-plank line at 800 sq ft and $183.77 above the other two at 300 sq ft. These figures cover boxes only: installation, removal of the old floor, trim and delivery are quoted separately. For a quick estimate across your own rooms, try our flooring budget estimator.
The box count also decides how much plank is left over. At 800 sq ft, 61 boxes of 13.79 sq ft cover 841.19 sq ft against the 840 sq ft waste-adjusted area, while 60 wide-plank boxes cover 850.80 sq ft. That leaves 1.19 sq ft beyond the allowance on the first two lines and 10.80 sq ft on the wide-plank line, which is a little more room for a cutting mistake or a later repair.
Which 9mm line fits which project
- Choose the Pacific Teak line when one of its six colours is the one you want, or when you want the IIC 73 / STC 72 figure printed on the product page you are buying from.
- Choose the narrow-plank line for a residential floor where the 12mil wear layer in our "Residential" field is enough and you want the lower box price on a 13.79 sq ft box.
- Choose the wide-plank line when the 20mil wear layer matters, or when your area lands just under a box boundary in the 14.18 sq ft box.
- For a condo, start from your building's own rules and ask us to confirm the sound rating for the colour you pick; do not assume the Pacific Teak figure applies to the other lines.
- For a mid-sized area, run the box maths before you decide. At 300 sq ft the box size made no difference to the number of boxes, so the price per box decides it.
Before you order: stock, colour and width
Stock changes, and four of the 26 colours are out of stock as of our latest pull. Confirm the quantity for your full area before you commit. Screens also render wood tones differently, so ask us what we can show you before you pick between two similar colours.
Installation is not included in any box price on this page. These are floating click-lock planks, and removal of an old floor, subfloor work and delivery are quoted after we know your building type, area and what is on the floor now. When you request a quote, send room sizes and a photo or two.
Riche 9mm vinyl plank FAQ
Is Richie flooring the same brand as Riche?
Our catalogue lists all 26 of these products under the vendor name "Riche Flooring". The web addresses of the Pacific Teak line products spell the brand "richie", so you may see both spellings on our site. For the full range beyond 9mm, see our Riche collections overview.
What does 7+2mm mean on these planks?
It describes the build: a 7mm core plus a 2mm EVA pad, adding up to the 9mm total. The pad is attached to the plank rather than sold as a separate roll.
Do Riche 9mm planks need underlay?
For the narrow-plank and wide-plank lines, the product titles say an EVA pad is included, so no separate underlay roll goes into the budget. The Pacific Teak page also describes a 2mm EVA pad pre-attached. If you are unsure about your subfloor, ask us before you order.
Are Riche 9mm vinyl planks waterproof?
Our waterproof field reads "Yes" on all 26 products. That describes the plank itself, so ask us about your subfloor and room before you plan a wet area.
Which 9mm line is better for a condo?
Pacific Teak is the line where we can point to a listed IIC 73 / STC 72 figure. Whatever you pick, check what your building requires and have the exact colour's sound rating confirmed before you buy.
