Two dates do most of the work in the Canadian flooring calendar: Black Friday at the end of November, and Boxing Week at the turn of the year. Our 2026 windows are confirmed, and the prices that go with them will be posted on the Flooring Sale Toronto collection for the length of each event. Judging those numbers is the harder part. A sale price means something only after you divide it by the coverage in the box and multiply it back out to the floor you are covering, and that test takes ten minutes with a tape measure.
When is the 2026 boxing day flooring sale in Toronto?
Boxing Week 2026 runs from Sunday December 27, 2026 to Sunday January 3, 2027. Sunday is a closed day here, so the first chance to walk the showroom during that sale is Monday December 28. Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day are also closed. Our Black Friday sale runs from Friday November 27 to Monday November 30, 2026, on normal hours: Monday to Friday 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Saturday 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
No discount figure is published ahead of either event, because the number that matters is the one attached to each product when the sale opens. During the window, the prices on the sale collection are the prices that apply. Note the products and their current prices now, so you can see exactly what moved.
What about Victoria Day, Labour Day and other long weekends?
The two windows above are the only 2026 dates we can confirm. Victoria Day, Labour Day and the other long weekends have no published schedule here, so check the collection close to the date rather than assuming a price will move. Clearance and end-of-line stock is a separate kind of price drop, covered in where clearance flooring sells in the city.
Why a box price hides the real cost
Flooring is sold by the box, and boxes do not hold the same amount of floor. The fair comparison is the box price divided by the square footage inside it, which is how the last column below was built.
| Floor | Box price | Coverage per box | Price per sq ft |
|---|---|---|---|
| Riche Blonde Sand Oak 6mm SPC | $44.68 | 23.64 sq ft | $1.89 |
| Riche Greige Oak 10mm SPC | $38.89 | 11.82 sq ft | $3.29 |
| Sunshiny SL7386 laminate | $32.99 | 16.58 sq ft | $1.99 |
Prices checked October 23, 2026. Box prices and coverage come from our current catalogue.
Start with the first two rows, because they invert the usual instinct. A Greige Oak box is $5.79 cheaper than a Blonde Sand Oak box, yet it works out $1.40 per sq ft dearer, because one box holds 11.82 sq ft where the other holds 23.64 sq ft. At $32.99 the laminate box costs less than either SPC, and it still lands $0.10 per sq ft above the Blonde Sand Oak. Builds differ too: the Greige Oak is a 10mm plank with a 20mil wear layer, the Blonde Sand Oak is 6mm with 12mil, and the laminate is 15mm thick. Carry the last column between stores.
Four steps to read any sale price
Work through these in order and the arithmetic stays honest, whoever is selling.
- Measure the floor. Add up each room and write the total down, because every later step uses it.
- Find the coverage per box. That figure changes everything: 23.64 sq ft in one box, 11.82 sq ft in the other.
- Divide the sale price by the coverage. The result is a price per sq ft you can hold beside the regular price.
- Add the waste allowance, then divide by the coverage and round up. We quote on the measured area plus 5% for cuts, so whole boxes times box price gives the material cost.
A plain 500 sq ft of open floor, run through steps three and four with that waste allowance in place:
| Floor | Coverage per box | Boxes at 525 sq ft | Material cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Riche Blonde Sand Oak 6mm SPC | 23.64 sq ft | 23 | $1,027.64 |
| Riche Greige Oak 10mm SPC | 11.82 sq ft | 45 | $1,750.05 |
| Sunshiny SL7386 laminate | 16.58 sq ft | 32 | $1,055.68 |
Five percent takes 500 sq ft to 525 sq ft before the division, which is how we quote: 23 boxes of the Blonde Sand Oak hold 543.72 sq ft and cost $1,027.64, 45 boxes of the Greige Oak hold 531.90 sq ft at $1,750.05, and 32 boxes of the laminate hold 530.56 sq ft at $1,055.68. Splitting the spread out, the same 500 sq ft costs $722.41 more in the Greige Oak than in the Blonde Sand Oak, before installation. Stock on the laminate is short just now, so confirm quantity before you plan a floor around 32 boxes of it.
What the sticker does not cover
A box price buys planks, not a finished floor, and the distance between the two is where sale comparisons break down.
- Tax. Put both candidates on the same footing, tax out against tax out or tax in against tax in. A headline compared with a checkout total flatters whichever you read first.
- Installation. If you want the floor laid, ask for the installed figure for the same area as well as the material one. Labour is priced on the area and the work, so a reduction on planks does not carry into it.
- Delivery or pickup. Ask how the boxes reach your door before you commit to a load you cannot move.
- Trim, transitions and the old floor. Baseboards, reducers and removal sit on their own quote lines, and a sale on planks does not touch them.
We price planks and work as separate lines, so the figure on a product page is a material figure and nothing more.
A click laminate also takes a separate underlay beneath it, which is another line on a quote. The Sunshiny SL7386 in the table covers 16.58 sq ft per $32.99 box and takes that underlay, so ask what it adds before you compare it with the SPC floors.
How to check that a regular price was real
A discount is a claim about a previous price, and Canada's Competition Bureau sets out what that claim has to rest on. Its guidance on the ordinary selling price is blunt: when advertising, businesses cannot invent a higher regular price to make a sale look like a bargain.
The Bureau describes two tests for a genuine regular price. Under the volume test, more than 50% of sales of that product were at that price or higher within a reasonable period, usually within a year, before or after the promotion. Under the time test, the product was offered for sale in good faith at that price or higher for a substantial period, usually within a year of the promotion.
Two questions follow. What was this plank selling for a month before the sale, and can the seller show it? A crossed-out number with no selling history proves little, and a per-sq-ft figure built on it proves as little.
The Bureau also flags a pressure tactic worth recognising: an offer advertised to end soon whose discounted price continues to be available long after the advertised time limit. Our windows have fixed ends, so a sale with a real end date can be checked.
A sale-day checklist
- Note the end date and plan your measuring around it, not around the day you walk in.
- Convert every candidate to a price per sq ft before a colour wins you over. A shade at $3.29 per sq ft and one at $1.89 are different purchases.
- Count boxes against stock. If your area needs 23 boxes, ask whether 23 are available together, because a floor from two production runs can show a seam.
- Check the regular price against a figure you wrote down earlier, not the one on the tag.
- Ask what the quote covers, and get the installed figure beside the material figure for the same area.
- Keep one box spare for cuts and future repairs.
- Treat a discontinued colour as a separate decision. If a colour is leaving the catalogue rather than being on sale, buying a discontinued floor carries its own risks.
One more habit is worth the effort: compare a sale against the same product at its normal price, not against a similar-looking product. Our Toronto cost comparison of Home Depot flooring runs that arithmetic across two stores.
Frequently asked questions about flooring sales
When does flooring go on sale in Canada?
For our store the confirmed 2026 windows are Black Friday, Friday November 27 to Monday November 30, and Boxing Week, Sunday December 27 to Sunday January 3, 2027. Outside those dates there is no set schedule, so the collection page shows what is running.
When is the boxing day flooring sale in Toronto?
Boxing Week opens Sunday December 27, 2026, and the store is closed that day, so Monday December 28 is the first day to shop it in person. Prices stay live through Sunday January 3, 2027.
How can I tell whether a flooring sale price is real?
Divide the sale price by the coverage in the box, then compare the result with the regular price per sq ft of the same product. Ask what that regular price was before the event, and treat the discount as unproven if nobody can show it.
Is installation or delivery included in a sale price?
Treat the figure on a product page as the plank price and ask for the rest separately. Installation, delivery, trim and removal are quoted on their own lines, and both figures on the same area keep the comparison fair.
How many extra boxes should I buy when flooring is on sale?
Measure the rooms and add 5% for cuts, divide by the coverage and round up to whole boxes. Where the floor has angles, a diagonal layout or several doorways, one extra box is easier than a later order.
