Walnut brings the classic rich brown tone and refined grain of the species to the room. Select grade keeps the look more consistent from plank to plank. Because this is solid wood, the floor can be sanded and refinished over its service life, subject to the amount of usable wood remaining and a professional assessment.
Solid hardwood requires an appropriate subfloor and installation method for the site conditions. Follow the flooring manufacturer’s installation instructions and have your installer assess the subfloor, moisture conditions and room suitability before installation. Protect the floor from standing water, use felt pads beneath furniture, and clean with products suitable for hardwood flooring.
